Founder & Lead Storyteller

Chris Dooly is a professional Storyteller living in New York City where he's taught hundreds of kids and adults how to play the world's greatest roleplaying game. He is a member of Actors’ Equity and holds a B.F.A. in Theatre Arts from NYU. He draws on his training as an improviser, writer, and collaborator to enhance gameplay and player participation.

An avid fiction enthusiast, Chris was raised on high-fantasy novels and RPG videogames. He has played 5th Edition D&D since 2016, teaching himself to be a Game Master after discovering how hard it was to break into the hobby. DMforAdventure was born out of the desire to introduce as many people as possible to the joys of TTRPGs like Dungeons & Dragons.

Throughout this journey, Chris discovered his strength in working with and supporting neurodiverse youth. He believes patience and compassion are paramount to finding success in Executive Functioning mentoring and is driven by his own experiences as a neurodiverse person.

All of our Storytellers are trained using the DMforAdventure philosophy to provide the highest level of care for our players, focused on narratives, improv, and inclusivity.
